Enter each part of your class — homework, quizzes, midterm, final — with its score and how much it's worth. Get your overall percentage and letter grade instantly.
Enter at least one score and its weight to see your overall grade.
Multiply each score by its weight, add those up, and divide by the total weight. If your weights sum to 100%, the result is your final grade for the class:
overall grade = Σ (score × weight) ÷ Σ weights
Worked example: homework 92% at 20%, quizzes 85% at 20%, midterm 78% at 25% and final exam 88% at 35% gives (92×20 + 85×20 + 78×25 + 88×35) ÷ 100 = 86.1% — a B.
| Letter | Minimum percent |
|---|---|
| A | 90% or higher |
| B | 80% or higher |
| C | 70% or higher |
| D | 60% or higher |
| F | below 60% |
Some schools use plus/minus cutoffs (A− at 90, B+ at 87, and so on) or curve grades — this table shows the common 10-point scale.
