Enter your grade so far and how much the final is worth — see the exact score you need for your target grade, plus what every final score from 60% to 100% would give you.
Enter your current grade, the final's weight, and a target to see exactly what you need to score.
Your final grade is your current grade plus the final exam, each weighted by how much it counts. Solving for the final score you need:
needed on final = (target − current × (1 − w)) ÷ w where w = final exam weight, as a decimal (30% → 0.3)
Worked example: you're at 84%, the final is worth 30%, and you want a 90% overall: (90 − 84 × 0.7) ÷ 0.3 = (90 − 58.8) ÷ 0.3 = 104%. Not possible — so an A is out of reach this time, and a B is safe. That's exactly the kind of reality check to run before you plan your study week.
If the needed score comes out negative, you've already secured the grade — anything you score on the final only helps.
